Change Room & Washroom Access

In compliance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, participants, visitors and employees have a right to use a change room or washroom that corresponds to their expressed gender identity, regardless of their sex assigned at birth. Gender identity is based on self-determination only and does not require medical documentation or any other form of “proof” to establish gender identity. Self-identification is the only criterion required to determine which change room or washroom people use.

Town employees can provide information to people on various change room and washroom options available so they can decide which one to use for themselves. For individuals requiring additional changeroom accommodations, please speak to our staff.
